  • Trouble with QT Import, Safety Zones Cut Off

I have a project that was shot in DVCPro HD 720p on P2 cards using the HVX200. I edited it as a 720p project in Premiere Pro and then exported it to Quicktime using the Avid DV50 codec and keeping the frame size HD anamorphic, 960 X 720. The resulting QT was anamorphic, as expected, and my plan was to import it into AVID, squeeze it back to 16:9 (I need to export to tape from the AVID). But when I imported the QT file into AVID, it cut off the edges of the video. All I see is the section of the video that fell inside the TITLE safety zone. The actions safety zone and outside of it are completely gone.
My AVID project was set up as NTSC 30i, is that the problem? The only other settings options I have are 1080i and 1080iHDV. Which is the proper setting? Please help, thanks!

you can change your import settings to immprt the entire image. Sounds like you may have 601 selected. Resize may be what yer after.

    Thanks for responding.
I have 601 selected for the color rather than RGB because that’s how i exported it to the quicktime but for the import to AVID i think i had maintain ration, non-square pixel selected. You’re saying I should select resize, square pixel?
And should I make the project settings NTSC or 720P?
