Hmmm. sounds like this might be a good time for an Adobe person to enlighten us.

    Hi All,

Good discussion whilst I’ve been tucked up in bed!

    No, I’m not on a Mac – I’m on a Windows 7 PC.

As for the trimming, that isn’t really the issue – it’s the files aren’t copying.

Yep, will have to go and badger Adobe about this. if I get a response I’ll post it here.

Thanks for all your help and input!

[josef brett] “No, I’m not on a Mac – I’m on a Windows 7 PC.”

Well, unless you used a Mac to transfer the AVCD files…there goes that theory…

    No, sorry!

    No need to be sorry…

I just thought maybe I had done some brilliant deductive reasoning there, but just like every other time I think I might have done something brilliant…I was mistaken (sigh)

    🙂

If you could get the exact model of the camera, it might help us regress the issue in some respect…did you shoot at 24 Mbits/s or…?

The exact model of the camera is: Sony NEX EA50UK

The settings were 1080/25P FX, which is 24 Mbps, hope that helps.

I’ve heard others complain that the EA50 makes some strangely behaving files, but I have no experience with them myself…

So when you don’t choose to “trim”…complete clips are gone, or are they partially there? If it’s partial, is the error consistent/ (it always drops off after the first five minutes, or has the in point 2 minutes late or…?)

Premiere doesn’t trim ProRes media aswell in the project manager, which is not Long Gop.
