Trouble starting after effects 6.5
I recently bought a copy of adobe after effects 6.5, it worked great for the first few weeks, but one day i started the program and clicked on import and the program shut down and its done the same ever since…has anybody experienced the same problem or knows what i should do? thanks..

You could try deleting the preference files. Launch the app with Shift down (I think it’s Shift, otherwise try the other ones). You get a dialog asking if you want to delete prefs.
If that doesn’t work, remove and re-install I’m afraid.

i tried removing and re-installing but it’s still doing the same?

Start AE and quickly press shift+ctrl+alt to delet the prefs. This may work.

Well, no sooner do I post than I fix my problem–maybe this will fix yours…restored my system to before I installed iTunes 6 with QuickTime 7. Did the trick. I can now save, import and everything–I just have to reinstall an earlier version of QuickTime and iTunes.
Watch “Lost” or work on After Effects…hmmm. Think Lost is going to the laptop…Jack Poorman
