  • Trouble reopening a PPro sequence

I have a problem and I have no idea what is going on or how to solve it. I’m using CS4 for both PPro and AE and I have a Matrox RTx2. I captured my HDV 1080i footage in PPro and put it in the time line. Then I opened AE and imported that PPro sequence. I did some green screen stuff and then rendered it out. I decided to make some changes after seeing the full render and when I went to open the composition, AE tells me that the MPEG file is missing. When I try to import or replace the file AE tells me that it can’t import “xxxx 4800.cfa”: unsupported filetype or extension. (0::1). It brought it in once, why won’t it do it again. How can I get AE to ignore the file and bring in the file I want?

    Thanks

    Dave,

That make sense to me but why can I import the PPro project and everything works perfectly, I save it, close it, reopen it and THEN it gives me the can’t read it/don’t understand it error messages?

    Thanks Dave,

I’ll just use your method until I get CS5 at the end of the month.

    Dave,

No problems here, I’m already running 64 bit and my new system that I’m getting will be that too. I just spent a couple months specing out a system. Luckily the corporate stuff I do isn’t too intense. I just run into these little problems once in a while.
