    Hi gang

My computer plays almost everything at full resolution with Mercury playback except for dpx sequences. I prefer full rez as I do film restoration and anything less obscures the very things I need to fix.

HP Z800 dual Xeon processors 6 cores each
    24g ram
    SSD boot drive
    NVIDIA GTX 870 GPU
    G-Tech G Speed ES w/their controller
    PP CC current version.

With DPX sequences your storage media needs to be fast. How big DPX frames are you trying to run at what frame rate? How fast is your storage?

    Hi Tero

Am using G Tech Gspeed es in Raid 0, all Enterprise class 7200 rpm drives. DPX files are 2336×1752 16m each at 23.98. (These are 4×3/1.33 film scans of a 1928 movie.

But how fast is it? You would need at least 400 MB/s and the official specs say that it can run up to 252 MB/s. Which is not enough.

    Thanks Tero

That was the information I needed but couldn’t remember. As configured my system isn’t fast enough. Do you play dpx files? What drive setup could handle this?
