Hi, I am trying to import intoto FCP 7 some .M2T files but I get this message:

I have the RAD plug-in from Sony, FCP is version 7, log and transfer… and this is not the first time I edit HDV footage.

    Never happened before but now…

    Help!

You need the full camera folder structure to make work L&T.
If you can’t run L&T probably you’ll need “ClipWrap” to convert the clips.

FCP cannot edit with anything but .mov files. The standard workflow is to first convert the .m2t files to prores via log and transfer, eats up massive disk space and is a sobering reality. But the quality is awesome!!!

I just had the same problem but fixed it!
First you need all the files (M2T, IDX and DAT)
    Make the folder-structure like this:
Put the files in a folder called: “HVR”, then put the “HVR”-folder in a new folder called “video”. Make shure the Folder called “video” is not in any other folder. Ploblem salved on my fcp 7 but i think its´the same on fcp 6

I am a new fellow on this site and followed the ‘M2T L & T’ discussions for some time. Has anyone on this forum using clipwrap been able to preview clips as well in FCP7?
When I try to transfer from a Sony HVR-MRC1 the card is not recognized, the MRC1 display does not change into the ‘computer mode’ but remains in ‘video mode’ and does not appear on the desktop when connected to a Mac. With a card reader and Sony plugin the clips mount in the L & T window, but I definitely need I and O to operate as well.

I appreciate any response that helps solve this mystery.

    Thanks

    Gerd

I renamed my external HD to ‘video’ and it worked just fine.
    Tks Anders

For people who are still struggling with this. Just download the Sony FCP-plugin: https://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/www/pro_hdv/fcp_plugin/
