Trouble importing from Panasonic P2 into FCP (5.1.4)
Originally I hooked up the Camera to the computer and dragged all the files from the “Camera Drive” to a new folder on a local disk drive.
I opened up FCP and went to File>Import>Panasonic P2
I couldn’t seem to get anywhere which is when I watched several tutorials online. All the tutorials said to install the P2 driver, which I hadn’t done so I was confused as to why the files showed up at all.The problem still remains that when I try to import into FCP I locate the folder but then nothing happens. No footage appears, no data thumbnails show up, nada.
Any clue as to what im doing wrong?

This is the tutorial for 5.0.4…I think nothing changes in 5.1…

You need to point at the ROOT level of the card/folder. The folder that contains the CONTENTS folder. If that doesn’t work…do you have FX Factory installed? There was a bug that made it so P2 import didn’t work with older versions of FX Factory.
