Trouble Importing Audio into CS4

Are you going into the P2 folder and dragging clips directly into your project/bins? If so, this is not how tapeless media ingestion (P2, AVCHD, XDCAM, RED, etc) is designed to work. It’s a common mistake, so I default to it.

Should be of help, my personal knowledge of CS4 is a bit hazy from time but it looks like the process is still the same as the more modern CS6.

Thanks for the response Angelo. And I really appreciate the pdf..tons of helpful info. Unfortunately none of the other import methods are working for me. I am not using the P2 cards. I am recording directly to the Firestore…FS-100. Not sure if that is creating the problem or not.

Ah, I glanced over it, so you’re getting multiple MXF files for the video and the two audio channels correct?

“Sorted the problem. For people who run into this problem, copy the footage back to the FS100 hdd into the folder with the long code. Then in the settings in the hdd, click organise hdd and also repaired hdd. Then connect to pc and import straight into premiere from the hdd. Worked for me anyway.”

Seems to be some ingestion quirk.

Thanks so much Angelo. I had read about that before but totally forgot about it. I hadn’t formatted my FS yet so I simply “Organized P2” and everything works as it should. Thanks again.
