  • Trouble exporting a keyed clip

Posted by Dan Stubbs on September 14, 2007 at 10:27 am

    Good afternoon,

I have created a clip which I have keyed. However when I export the clip as an avi I cannot ammend the clip I am just left with the talent against a blck back-ground – ie. I cannot put an image on top of the clip. I imagine there is a fairly simple solution to this but I can’t work out how to export the clip so I can manipulate it afterwards.

    Any advice?

You have to export it using the Animation codec. Use QuickTime Conversion, set the codec to Animation and the colors to Millions+.

    All the best,

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately ive tried that and it still isnt working. Some have sugested you need to export it un-rendered but if I do that the green key re appears. Any ideas?

Sorry I missed a bit. You’re exporting as an AVI. You’re going to a PC? Is that right? I’m guessing here. In which case it’s not going to work. You’ll have to key on the PC.

    All the best,

    Tom
