TRIPODS?
Posted by Redford Givens on August 17, 2007 at 11:07 pmI need a tripod for a Panasonic AG-DVX100B.
Can anyone suggest a decent tripod for around $100.00?
What is necessary in a tripod to do DVs?
Any pitfalls to avoid?

It’s a dry heat!”I did a lot of still photography years ago and the only thing I needed from a tripod was a solid platform.
Being new to videography I don’t have a clue about tripods.
Doing videos may require panning across a scene etc. A smooth traverse would be a good idea.
Can I get an adeqate tripod from Target or Walmart?
I see tripods running from $40

August 18, 2007 at 11:28 am$100.00 is probably not enough to purchase a video tripod that you will be happy with.
Here is some reading to help you in your search:

And links to the products mentioned:

No endorsement of the vendors here, just information.
