  • triggered SDI to ProRes recording: what product?

Say I need to record a live feed coming via SDI (720p60) to ProRes, ideally on a Windows system (easier to mount in a rack). It’ll need to start/stop recording programmatically, e.g. via a REST call.

What product and what software could I use for that?

Would it be simple enough to do via a BMD Decklink and their SDK?

    Notes:

  • Extra bonus if the system can return its status programmatically: “waiting”, “recording”…
  • Ideally it won’t be something expensive: all we really need is the ability to load a preset (like “720p60 recording to ProRes HQ 422”), set the recording destination, and start/stop recording programmatically.
  • We have Teranexes, DeckLinks, HyperDecks… the hardware isn’t the issue, it’s the functionality: triggered recording to ProRes in Windows, ideally to a location of our choice, e.g. to SAN
  • Extra bonus if there’s support for growing files
  • Extra bonus if the system is capable of recording multiple channels simultaneously and independently.
  • Thanks!
