Tricks for Making an Animation looking more naturalistic
I’ve been working on After Effects heavily lately and I’m getting better by the day. One thing that I’d really like to learn is tricks to make this digital world look more natural like analog equipment. For example mimicking old 70’s footage, or just give it that natural randomness that things like film grain provide.
Here’s my graphic reel that I made at the beginning of my After Effects career. You can see what I mean here
You can see how certain ones look very clear how they were made. There’s is little warmth and texture in some when compared to what should be needed. For example, the “Punk rock” style, is dirty, but the wiggler is too smooth even though it’s on jagged, and the grime is just a still image over it, when I’d like something more dynamic.
What do you do to get a natural feel to your After Effects comps?
