  • Trick for getting merged clip sources in batch list

I’m organizing some project info in Excel, and came across an issue/solution.

I have merged clips with audio from one source and video from another (dual system feature film). I have merged these two sources to merged clips. When I show source, both source files appear in the source data column in Final Cut.

However, when I export a batch list, only the video source lists out. I can export xml and see everything in there, but I’m not familiar with XML parsing.

So here’s the solution: I drag all the merged clips into a sequence, lock audio tracks, delete video, and drag the audio back into a new bin. That new audio only bin has the audio source, and exports this to a batch list.

In excel, I just sort until them match up, and I have all the info.
