TREE BARK
Anyone know of a good resource for doing Tree Bark.
I need to show a saw cutting though a tree. I can do the rings on the inner wood but my attempts at realistic bark are worse then my bite… oooohhhh … Sorry about that.

Just a generic Brown bark… Oak tree?? Maybe.
Here’s the issue. I have to zoom in realllly close and travel through a “slice” in the tree. I am using one of the wood Procedurals for the core of the tree which holds up really nice as I get close. Using a JPG of real bark with a Noise bump looks great from far away but as I get in close it just look sbad.
I have created something that looks decent… but I was hoping someone might have some ideas on a procedural approach.
