I am still fairly new to AE so please excuse my ignorance.

Here is the effect I am trying to accomplish.

I would like to use Shine to appear as a sparkle inside of a crystal ball.
I have the crystal ball as Layer 1 and a white .psd cirle as Layer 2.
When applying shine to Layer 1, I can not get the glow radius to stay within the boundaries of the crystal ball without getting chopped by the boundary of the layer.. 🙁

    Shimmer 155
    Detail 500
    Ray Length 10.5

    Please help.

    Thank you.

You need more space around the layer. Delete the Shine Effect (or copy it). Select the Crystal ball layer and PSD layer and choose LAYER > PRECOMPOSE. Choose the “Move all attributes” option. Now reapply the Shine effect to this new precomp layer and you should be good to go.

Thank you!!! I will try this in the next hour and let you know my progress. I made a mistake in my original post. I am applying the Shine effect to the white PSD Circle but I stated that the effect was rendered on Layer 1 instead of layer two.
