I have created a flowing ring of leaves by tweaking a preset in Trapcode Particular. It is using a custom textured sprite. The linked Pre-comp for the sprite texture holds a seamlessly looping .MOV.

    – Please see attached clip that shows the strange “twitching” I am trying to fix.

    – The sprite .MOV and all comps are 25fps.

    – The particular layer is also flashing white which I need to fix too!

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

    – no aux system

    – Physics – Fluid – vortex tube

    – Emitter type – Tube ring OBJ

I haven’t done any of this in a long time but I do recall something to do with random.

I had the same issue with an older project where the point particles would snap.

Sorry that’s all I can remember.

Thanks Eric. I have played around with all the random settings with no success. I will probably have to start from scratch and try get my movement shape a different way, which is a shame as this is the perfect formation. The problem seems to go away when I use the textured sprite from scratch.

If the problem goes away when you start from scratch, it makes me wonder if there was a glitch in the original preset version that was compensated for.

Have you checked the Turbulence settings in Physics?

Thanks for your responses, I have started from scratch and the twitching has gone but there is still some white frames flashing annoyingly.
