So I am doing a sand text transition with particles in Form. Basically doing the method laid out in this tutorial: this tutorial.

Everything looks great and like it should but I am hitting this maddening problem where the form layer is shifting the image up and to the left. Now normally I would chalk this up to something in the form settings, but the kicker here is if I toggle between full/half/third resolution it centers up and looks right. There’s no rhyme or reason, either. Sometimes full is right and half is wrong, sometimes third is right and full is wrong. I can get it all centered up by copy/pasting the test back into itself in the text layer of each precomp, but when I go to render at least one of them shifts back to the top/left. This is driving me bonkers! I have attached a screenshot of what I am talking about that includes the Form settings. Any ideas?

    Try clearing your cache:

    Ae CS6:
Preferences > Media & Disk Cache > Empty disk cache
Edit > Purge > All memory

    Ae CC:
Edit > Purge > All memory & disk cache

Can you post a project file?

Here is a project file that is giving me the problem. It’s killing me. I am on deadline for this project and can’t get it to work right. I did get one cut done by manually changing the position of the base form in Form and then exporting each individual section and reassembling in Premiere, but now that doesn’t even work because the text element flickers from one position to another.

FIX! Took me 3 whole days to figure out the issue, well, not really figure out the root issue, but it does seem like a temporary fix.

    Instructions:
Pre-Comp the text layer/layers and use the composition as the Color and Alpha layer, even if you are using multiple text layers.
    – That’s it!

Surprised no one has solved this yet, maybe this could be seen by the developers and create a fix?

Having the same issue using Trapcode Forum 2.09 and both After Effects CC 2014 and 2015. Driving me mad. This has to be a Trapcode issue. Going to try the fix listed…no Whammies????
