I am trying to fade in and out two lines of text. I have the first one, but when I insert the second one, it doesn’t show up on the preview. The tiny icons that show generated media, event pan/crop, and event fx are grayed out. How do I make them become active? Thanks!

Where did they originally come from (i.e. how did you create them) and how did you get them on the timeline?
I know it sounds like a dumb question but I have my reasons for asking. -
I created them in the media generator and then dragged them onto the time line. (SVS 10)

Drag them to the timeline first and then alter the default settings as necessary.
