I know that in after effects it reads black as transparent but i made my layer black, so I could inport my 3D logo in zakswerks, but after effects did not read my black layer as transparent. How do you make a transparent layer in after effects? thanks.

I am not sure where you are getting that black equals transparent in AE. I have never had that happen. The only way that this might be is if you saves a file with an alpha channel and it looks black in windows but it is really transparent. If I understand your question correctly, you do not need a transparent layer. Simply create a new layer in AE and then apply 3D Invigotator to it. One of the settings is to not render that layer but only the effect. In fact, this should be the default.

I think he is getting confused by the default “black” background AE uses when a new comp is formed and assumed with a black background it would be transparent.

    ~Hope this helps~
