Translating masks from low to high resolution art.
Hi there, I would say I’m pretty seasoned with After Effects, but I’m sure I missed some basics here and there.
So I’m working on a personal project just for kicks, where I grabbed some artwork off the web that I liked and wanted to add settle animation for a 10 second loop. I spent quite a bit of time masking out pieces and started animating already.
I later discovered that there was a much larger sized version of that artwork. A difference between the low quailty 1024×1501 and the larger art at 3475×5093. Is there a way to preserve all the masking work that I’ve done or would I basically need to rework all of the masks that I created to fit the larger art? Once a mask is created, is there a way to just scale the mask itself?

Are the mask paths animated? If not, you can simply select them all and scale (free transform).
If they are animated, you could probably use the low-res layer as a track matte for the high res layer.
