Transition woes
I have a very simple lower third with a solid back at about 40 opacity.
At first when I tried both cross dissolve or fade in fade out first the words would come up and then the bar would pop in. I solved that problem through trial and error.
But, now the front fade in is just too fast. More of a pop in than a fade in. Fade out is just fine.
I’ve tried extending the time and that doesn’t work. Any help would be super appreciated.

How about nesting the lower third and solid back into it’s own sequence (opt-c) then fading that up/down?

When I can’t get the transitions to work the way I want I’ll use the pen tool instead and work directly on the video overlay line in the timeline, using keyframes to fade the clips in and out, not the cross-dissolve filter.
