    Hi there.

I’ve been using FCP for a month now, and it seems like it’s having some trouble adding any transitions. My sequence/project settings correspond perfectly with my clips. But everytime I try to add a basic transition (f.e. a cross fade) it needs rendering, no matter the clip quality. I’m running FCP on a new unibody 15″ 2.53GHz macbook pro, and I’ve seen old macbooks doing the job easily.

    Any suggestions?

Double check that you have RT set to unlimited and not safe. It’s in the top left part of the timeline.

It somehow works now when I’m editing HD (I changed some Qmaster settings). When working with smaller .mov files (640×480) however, it’s still the same and the Unlimited- and Safe RT-options seem to be missing. I must be doing something wrong here.
