    Hello,

Been seeing this popular new transition for a while and I really want to know how its done. It’s the “pre-emptive color flash transition” I guess. I’m pretty sure this was done in FCP 7. Any ideas? Seeing this a lot and I love it.,

That’s done with film damage / light leak footage that’s composited over the original footage. Lots of places to buy and some out there for free.

You would out it over your footage (v2 track), then right click it and use the composite mode drop down to choose how you want it. I use “add”.

Sorry, that should be, “You would put it over your footage (v2 track)”. Typing on the iPad 😉
