  • Transcoding to DNxHR HQX wiht AME : resolution “none” vs “uncompressed” ?

Posted by David Cherniak on December 28, 2016 at 4:02 am

    Hi,

I am encoding 4K DCI footage from an Osmo camera (4096×2160 / H264 / 23,976) to DNxHR HQX 10-bit with a custom setting in AME.

In the video codec settings box, I have two drop down menus : “video codec” and “resolution”.
In the first I select “DNxHR/DNxHD”.
In the second I select “DNxHR HQX 10-bit.

Under these dropdown menus, I have a choice between “none” and “uncompressed”.

    What does this do?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi David,

Could you please post a screen grab? Not seeing those options on my end.

    Thanks

    Hi Jeff,

Sorry about that, should have included the screengrab from Adobe Media Encoder in the original post.
    Here you go.

I may have been wrong in my assumption that I have AVID codecs LE 2.7.3 installed on my computer.
The AVID codecs are installed on my system because AVID Media Composer 8.7 is installed.
I think it’s fair to say I have the latest version of the AVID codecs installed as the software has just been purchased and installed.
