hi all, we will be filming show in london using three canon 60D cameras, offline edit will happening in india with adobe premier, issue is we need upload tons of data on the server, thinking of transcoding low resulation(somthing like avid 15:1mxf)for the offline edit, and upgrading in london, i think canon 60d doesnt give timecode on the clip, is that posble to have somthing like E1 plugin for premier? which can time map on the clip,

    thanking you in advance

    Try QTchange.
The 60d has an embedded THM file, that QTchange can extract (or read and add timecode)

Thus, you can give the files TC, and / or extract the THM file, and let it travel with the transcodes, and add TC to the new transcoded files.

thnx for the prmpt reply, i just wonder, since we will be filming in 4 camera setup, almost 10hrs of data for each episode, first changing timecode, and transcoding for offline, we are using tomany differnt softwares while reconnecting shouldnt be issue,
i have gone through the qt change spec, i thnk it just overlap the time code, transcoding into low res still we need to go for other software,

is there anyway shal we do it all in one aplication somthing like E1 pluging for fcp?

    thnx

    I don’t quite follow you.
Sure, TC can have overlaps (and if you have a multicam shoot, it definitly will!), but if you do your work well, you have different Reelnames for all sources, hence make it so that each and every frame is unique.
Or do i miss the point?

thnx again, i exactly got your point, how to make offline file for premier? like avid has 15.1 mxf, somthing like E1 plugin quicktime proress LT,
our major issue is offline footage need to be upload via ftp for the actual edit, which happens in india, later we confirm it in UK

wondering where the THM files end up once they are extracted from 5DIII .MOV’s I haven’t been able to locate them.

I am using qtChange 2.26 and simply loading source – selecting “Extract THM” and pressing “Do it”. I then receive the message “it seems all is done” but can’t locate the THM’s.
