  Transcode Worflow

  Just for talk…

  Say I was using a PC and the new Premiere Pro CC. (Which is awesome by the way.)

  We shoot a lot of compressed formats where I work, AVCHD, etc. And it just never cuts well unless we transcode it. So my workflow on my Mac has been to ingest everything using FCP and then bring those files into Premiere CS6 and edit. It works great.

  but I really want to switch to a 100% PC workflow. So, no FCP, no Pro Res. etc.

  what are your thoughts, workarounds, etc. I’ve had very bad luck cutting this AVCHD footage without transcoding, and unfortunatly changing cameras is not currently an option.
