Is it possible to to include metadata from original recording (time code, date) when importing/transcoding from AVCHD to Dnx145? Video and audio quality are excellent for the imported material. But date and time are all for date/time of import, not original. Perhaps I’ve missed one of those amazing columns in the bin.

Unfortunately not and have brought it up several times with Avid. The original shoot date is far more useful than the date it was imported into Media Composer. The only thing you can do is duplicate the columns you want to preserve into a custom column before the transcode.

    Thanks Michael.

The other option is AMA. That makes original dates and times visible. But as we know, there are issues with AMA, especially when exporting timeline. Let’s all continuing lobbying with Avid.
