TRAINING DVD for Vegas Pro 8? _ recommendations?
Posted by Daylight7 on October 17, 2007 at 3:55 pmDoes anyone know of a good training DVD for Vegas Pro 8?
I know Vasst has one, but that seems to be just what’s new in Vegas 8. So I would have to buy some earlier training DVD’s from them as well.
Then there’s this guy, “Gary Kleiner” and “The Vegas Pro 8 Companion”. For $100, it’s a ten-hour DVD set. (that includes the $70 discount until the end of Oct, 2007)
Thanks

The VASST Absolute Training for Sony Vegas bundle includes all features for Vegas 6/7/8 and includes workflows, additional tips/tools/techniques not found in other training DVD series. It’s a full-coverage set.
For $159.00, you receive approximately the same time-length of training from the only Sony Certified Vegas Trainers in the world, featuring trainers/producers that use Vegas for broadcast, commercial production, and post-production in a professional environment.
In addition to the Vegas 8 bundle (Available from VASST, VideoGuys, and other resellers) there are also specific titles that go much more deeply into Sony Vegas than any other training product, such as in-depth understanding of the Sony Media Manager, Color Correction, Noise Reduction, Using Vegas in a Broadcast/Post Environment, Compositing, In-Depth DVD Architect, and others (with more to come).Douglas Spotted Eagle

October 23, 2007 at 2:27 pmI followed the link to the Vegas 8 training bundle but could not locate the $159.00 bundle. I only see the Vegas vol 8 for $79.00 and previous Vegas versions bundles for $299.00, $99.00 etc.
Thanks for the clarification.

October 23, 2007 at 4:47 pmI called Vasst. Their bundle refers to volumes 1,2,3,8. This covers everything, but uses Vegas, 5,6,7 and 8 to do so. But apparaently there haven’t been huge structural changes, so it works out okay.
This bundle includes:

October 24, 2007 at 3:02 amAlmost correct. The Absolute series at the basic level is good for Vegas 5/6/7/8. Once you get into the advanced levels, the DVDs that are pertinent have been replaced with Vegas 8 content. However, Vegas 6/7/8 were used in the Absolute series, launched when Vegas 6 shipped.

September 1, 2008 at 3:27 amDear Douglas,
I apologize, but I got completely lost in the discussion concerning Vegas Pro 8 training.
I too want to learn Vegas to my best ability.I have been using it for about a year, but have only learned the absolute basics, just to get by.
Can you give me a web shortcut to EXACTLY what it is that I want to order?
I want to learn EVERYTHING there is to know about VEGAS PRO 8 but don’t know what to order.
The bundle sounds great, but I am confused as to what I really need.
Thanks
MikeMike (X) Egts
