Is there a way to make instant train tracks out of a simple line in Illustrator? I’m using a Mac with CS 11.0.0. Colleagues remember a brush for this in old versions, but I can’t find one, even though it might be staring me in the face.

Sorry if the question is too basic for this forum.

I believe there used to be a graphic style in AI, but I always support creating your own artwork, or else everyone will have an Ilustrator out of the same.

    Draw a line
in appearance choose add new stroke and create the following in this order top to bottom

brown 15 point dashed (12 point in dashed line on strokes palette)
    white 15 point stroke
    silver 20 poitn stroke
brown 15 point dashed (12 point in dashed line on strokes palette)
    fill none

Thanks so much for the great tip. I hadn’t used appearance before.

Appearance is to Illustrator what layers are to Photoshop. Hopefully I have converted another appearance palette addict.
