It’s been a while since I’ve done any tracking in After Effects so please pardon the newbie-ness of my query.

I was wondering if its possible to use more then one Null to track using the same footage as the source. If so, what’s the appropriate set up? I tracked one Null to a footage layer successfully. But, I want to track another feature on the same footage and apply it to another Null.

After tracking the first Null, I tried tracking a new Null to the same layer, but I was presented with the same trackers even though the Track Target was the new Null. I even dragged in another copy of the footage into the timeline and renamed it, hoping that would do the trick. But, it still seemed to present the same trackers from the first track. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

In the tracker controls panel, hit the track motion button again and you’ll start a new track. Then you can change the target of that track to be the new null. Track as usual, apply the track and you’re done.

Thanks, Simon. That did the trick. 🙂
