    Below is a screenshot.

So Im working on a music video. Below is a screenshot of the performance footage. I need to replace the screens with content. I think what looks best is to replace with video and change the transfer mode to overlay or add. I need to paint out the X’s. Which I have done in the past using stills or jpegs. Problem is the lights change and if you use a still it looks unnatural. Am I using the right workflow or am I approaching it all wrong???
    Thanks

    – with organic changes such as lighting water etc I find it easiest to replace with elements from the footage wherever possible.

    – with this shot it might work to take the middle sections of the panels ( where there are no crosses ) and zoom them up to cover the crosses.

Another strategy could be to blur them out so you essentially just get the effect of the colored lights. I blurred the screens (on a separate, masked layer) by 50 pixels, gaussian, and then curved them lighter. If you need some texture in addition to footage on the layers, you can fake it with an overlay texture layer.

The shot isn’t static so would you stabilize then zoom?

    Thanks

    Hi John

    – I like Kalle’s idea better — suggest 2 static patches for first frame then either stabilise footage or track footage and apply data to patches —–
