I have an actor shoot another one in the head, and I have the blood splatter tracked to the wall, problem is, when I pan away to show the shooter running away, the track points leave the scene and of course, the blood splatter instead of staying put, moves with the pan, since I cant track the points, what are my best options for making the blood spatter stick during the pan?

since I don’t know if you have mocha, I’m going to simply recommend offset tracking, hold alt- then drag the tracker to a new trackable spot. the crosshair will then be separate from the search box.

I have cs4. I am quite new to after effects, I like the special effects possibilities. And I see we do have it. We have been learning using andrew cramers tuts online, while informative, its just one way of doing things.

Explain how mocha can help me in this situation.

Since you’re already familiar with Video Copilot, check out Andrew Kramer’s set extension tutorial. It covers how to do exactly what you’re wanting to do.

But the “Alt” button tip during the tracking that Chris Wright pointed out is the easiest and first method you should try.
