  Tracking a mask or tracking a clone

  Hi

  I have done some looking into tracking a mask and had some ideas and links to a site that wrote some scripts. However with CS3 AE 8 it just hangs up the software. Adobe has made it particularly difficult to do a simple track for a mask, say a blurry area to hide OR to track a cloned area. Is there any straightforward technique.
  Doing an expression to the mask position just gives me an error message.
