    Hi

I’m trying to track some text to a guitar moving on screen. The camera remains stationary.
I cant seem to find any good information on how to track moving objects with a stationary camera.
the built in tracker just keps losing the track points. I’ve tried mocha and boujou and the foundry camera tracker but they all seem to be aimed towards 3d and dont work for me.

Can anyone help me with this?

    Thanks in advance

Mocha is not necessarily a camera tracker, although they did add that feature recently. It’s a planar tracker and may work well for the track you’ve described. Are you familiar with using Mocha? If not then you should look into some tutorials/documentation.

The built-in point tracker in AE isn’t bad but it’s very out of date and limited in scope. It needs a good feature and it’s very picky about it staying pretty consistent.

If you can share the shot it should help people provide worthwhile suggestions.

I agree with Darby. Mocha should be the right tool since it is first and foremost an object tracker.

Make sure you go thru some tutorials at the Imagineer site to insure you know how to us Mocha in differing situations. I havent found an object that it cant track yet.

    Colin

    Another vote for Mocha.

Check this tutorial on tracking text to footage:

Though you have a steady camera , All procedures will be the same.
