    Hi,

I am relatively new to AE and am having trouble with the track matte in a motion logo file. I originally had two text layers, created in AE that I wanted to cross over and change colour as they crossed so set up duplicates and set one as the alpha track matte. All was working until I had to change from using AE text to a Photoshop file of the redrawn letter. When I replaced the first file with the PS file, the track matte no longer worked. I changed the file because in the original logo, the letter shape had been altered and I need to keep to the logo design. Using a vector EPS gave me poor quality so I redrew and saved out of PS.

Have I done the wrong thing? Can anyone help?

It sounds like it’s not aligned any more. When you turn the layer back on can you see it? Have you tried re-doing the effect with the photoshop file? Might be quicker than trouble shooting it.

Thank you Mike, that seems to have worked this time. No idea what I can have done. Thanks for your help.
