  • Tracing birds flight effect?

I have some footage of hummingbirds which I’ve slowed down. What I want is to create an “echo” effect of the bird’s flight path.
I’ve looked at the echo effect already in AE and it doesn’t seem to be what I want.
It seems I shouldn’t have to create masks.. I only want to echo the object that is moving in the frame. It would be nice to have lots of “freeze frames” of the birds’ previous position.. Since the BG remains constant isn’t there a way to only echo that which is moving?
    Thank you.

I had thought I would need to mask each layer but now I see I just need to mask the one layer, duplicate and move. Yay!

    Thank you!
