Total FCPX Crash – X does not recognize any plug ins anymore

These are shots in the dark, thank you for your patience. To find out if preferences are corrupt, you can make a new user account on your computer and see how fcp x opens up on that account.

I know, I made this folder always permanent visible, but I have only 3 Folders in the Motion Folder: Command Sets, Layouts and Library

That’s the weird thing: I did and it worked perfectly, apart form the fact that all plug ins are suddenly in Demo Mode. So I know it’s not X itself, but rather some corrupted file. I took already all my Library back from TM from days ago, but it also did not solve the problem. Thank YOU for your good will to trying to help. I really need X working again in this account, but I am pretty much at the end of the bar….tried about everything possible.

I see you tried trashing your preference files. Did you actually use Digital Rebellion’s Preference Manager?

Yes, I got a trial version from the manager of Digitalrebellion – Jon.
Unfortunately after doing the full Housekeeper, now even the thumbnails (see my previous post attachment) are gone.
I think I tried all of Digital Rebellions Sub Programs in that package.

What exactly should I do in the Preference Manager? I did mainly use the Housekeeper.

I was only thinking about their freeware application “Preference Manager” (that does also appear in their more extensive application suites).
Here are some files you can try deleting manually (they might only be on Mavericks/ FCPX 10.1.1):
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.FinalCut.plist
~/Library/Application Support/Compressor/CompressorConfig.plist
~/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro/Layouts/Final Cut Pro.saved.moduleLayout
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.FinalCut/.dat0e10.000
~/Library/Saved Application State/com.apple.FinalCut.savedState/data.data
~/Library/Saved Application State/com.apple.FinalCut.savedState/restorecount.plist
~/Library/Saved Application State/com.apple.FinalCut.savedState/windows.plistOf course emptying trash and restarting the computer might help after deleting and before reopening FCP X.

Just trash Final Cut Pro X preferences. Empty trash. Launch FCPX.

I hate to even suggest it, but…
I downloaded Apple’s Xcode in order to get their app “Instruments”. It allows you to see every file that FCP X reads or writes. Maybe you’ll find the file that’s the cause of it all…
