Top & Tail Edit – CTI frame
Hi
I am using Premiere Pro CC v7.2.1 (4).
I was checking out the Top edit (keyboard shortcut Q) which cuts off a clip from the beginning of the clip to the playhead.My question is, is it right that it also cuts off the frame that the CTI currently resides on?
Normally, on the timeline, I would go to the frame that I would want my clip to start from. Now I would want to delete everything to its right. Q will help but it also deletes the frame I chose as the beginning.
Is there a way or do I simply have to move the CTI a frame back & then press Q. That would be counter-intuitive.

That’s simply how Premiere behaves – counter intuitive but the CTI is the frame in front of it. I believe FCP7 acts this way as well so it’s not terribly foreign.
There is another keyboard shortcut, I think K that will cut ON the CTI, so give a look at that.
