Are there any tools out there for the Mac platform that will allow you to split MXF files from P2 cards into smaller clips? I have these huge 32gb files sitting around on my hard drives that I’d like to archive, and rather than buy a Blu-ray disc recorder or an LTO tape drive, I’d like to just burn several 8gb files to Dual-layer DVDs. I know some editing programs access the MXF files directly, but wasn’t sure if that’s available on the Mac. I’m FCP based, and Quicktimes just won’t cut it for archiving. Thanks.

Toast9 will allow you to burn sequential DVDs (it’s called spanning).
