  • Toolbar seems shy of tools?

    Hi All
Please forgive what is almost certainly a “pre-basics” question. I have recently returned to FCP after some years, (FCP 1 which must be close to 20 years!) After loading my shiny new FCP X, I’ve stumbled at the first fence not being able to locate most of the buttons that I would have thought lived in the ‘toolbar”? The text, blade, music buttons etc.
Could someone please tell me how I can get my full compliment of buttons to appear?
    Many thanks in advance.
BTW I did search the forum under “toolbar” without success.

FCPX is night and day different to FCP7 (as has been covered ad nauseum) so expecting 1:1 equivalents is an exercise in frustration.

Not all of the tools from 7 are there. Many are replaced by better or combined alternatives.

If you really want to learn FCPX, I cannot recommend highly enough training from https://www.rippletraining.com or https://www.xintwo.com

Many thanks for your response and your suggestions for training resources look very interesting.

My query was not alluding to the UI between FCP7 and 10.3, but rather the previous version of FCP X vs 10.3.

The toolbars (and much else I’m sure) between these “X” versions is quite different as you know so there’s a lot to learn.

Thanks for putting me on the right track!

    Cheers
