Tool selection Illustator CS4 and Vista 64 Bit
I am using Illustator CS4 on a Vista 64 Bit machine with a Wacom tablet.
My problem is this: I cannot get to any tool on the toolbar unless it is the one visible on the toolbar, i.e., when I click a tool with the little “more to be seen” arrow in the lower right corner, nothing happens (the tool should extend and allow selection of the formerly unseen tools). If I hold and click I get the little Vista grey ring and then nothing. If I double click I open the visible tools properties.
I have tried both the pen (my preferred pointer) and the Wacom mouse.
I have no clue what to do here.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Wow, I get to answer my own question!
Click and drag to the side pulls open the extender pallet.
Not what I would have expected, but there it is.
(I never thought frustration could be productive.)
