Hi, I shot actor a while back with a short shotgun mic mounted on my camera (should’ve boomed it, but I was short a guy) I had the gain turned up too high, since I was a few feet from the actor. Now there’s too much hum on the track. Anything I can do about it? I use Adobe Premiere Pro. By the way TY, I bought your boot camp book. Can’t wait til it comes – Raymond

Hello Ray and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum,

    Thanks for that,

Doesn’t premiere have a noise reduction plug in? I don’t use it, so I don’t know, but I thought it did.

Is it just “gain noise” or too much ambient noise and echo? Noise reduction software won’t help you there.

Try iZotope’s RX and see if that helps:

You may have to reshoot if it’s just ambience and echo.
