We are experiencing weird contrasty pictures on cox cable. Our program looks fine on Direct TV and Dish Network as well as NRB and the Church Channel.

Anyone have any ideas why this would be?

Some engineers say maybe the contrast is too high in our programs.

Is there a final cut filter to make sure contrast ratios are not too extreme?

    thanks

What does it look like on your external monitor, assuming you do monitor on a setup external via an I/O card (Kona, Matrox, Decklink etc)

If it looks OK and there is just one broadcaster having problems, then I suggest the problem may be at their end. Curious though, how are you delivering the final to each broadcaster?

[Larry Watts] “Anyone have any ideas why this would be?”

Too much compression on Comcast’s part.

    Bad feed on Comcast’s part.

    Lousy setup on Comcast’s part.

With Good Eats, the show looked decent on Charter Communications Cable HD but looks exactly like I handed it to Food Network on DirecTV. DirecTV consistently has a better signal and image than any cable operators that I have seen.
