December 12, 2012 at 5:25 pmAny beta testers here that might let us know if it’s worth upgrading? I have Pro 11 and was sent the upgrade email this morning. The price is certainly right. I use it to edit home videos and NOT professionally. What does this do better (or worse) than 11?
Thanks

December 12, 2012 at 6:32 pmIf its worth upgrading, Frank?
Where have you been all these months….lol
So many information has been written and mentioned
about the stability, added features and advantages
of Vegas 12. It isnt something to hesitate in considering,
it is far superior than Vegas 11.Steve Rhoden

December 12, 2012 at 7:18 pmThanks Steve.
I guess this shows the frequency with which I use Vegas (not that much). I’ll check out the forums more thoroughly. I mis-read the original email – thought it was a ONE DAY sale. “Vegas 12 on 12/12/12!!!”
I had planned on being away from my computer most of the day. Since I have 2 more days, I can search these these forums for answers.
Thanks again for replying.

December 12, 2012 at 8:32 pmI use SVP 12 for the same home and non-profit use. I regretted not upgrading to SVP 10 when it first came out with the introductory offer of saving $50. Later when I built a new system and moved from Windows XP to Windows 7, I decided that I would get much better support if I ran the current Sony 64bit offering than trying to get SVP 8 64bit to work. So I ended up paying more than if I just would have taken the initial offering. Since then I have kept Sony Vegas current. If you think you will continue to use Sony Vegas Pro then I think it is worth the price of a tank or so of gas to avoid the support frustration of needing the latest version because something else changed on your system beyond your control (QuickTime, Windows components, etc.)

December 13, 2012 at 4:49 pmJust to get something off my chest regarding this offer…I tried to take advantage of this yesterday for my corporate machine. My boss has a new Visa card, and I had problems getting the card authorized via the Sony purchasing site. Eventually, the site locked me out. I then called Sony Customer Support.
Big mistake.
The individual at the other end of the line was not only rude to the point of indifference, he indicated at first that I could “wait three days” till the account unlocked. I told him I would then miss Sony’s one-day sale…he replied by saying that the sale is for several weeks. “No, I’m aware of that sale. This is a new offer I received at 10pm Pacific time in both my corporate and personal email accounts that clearly states in the message header that this offer is for one day only.”
He stated that the only offer that came close to this (that he suddenly located during our conversation) was one for two days, and that my transaction would, after all, unlock by then.
No, I repeated, the offers I got are for one day only.
That can’t be, he said. I see EVERY offer we put out. There’s no such offer.
In other words, he called me a liar. Thanks for your help, Sony. Idiot, idiot, idiot….
