August 22, 2011 at 2:09 amHi Simon! Quick question…I dig this effect but for some reason, I can’t change the background color! Everytime I try, it resets it to white again. It’s the same whether I click on the color and try that way, or if I click on the dropdown that brings up the color pallette. Have you had this problem? Think it could be fixed?
Thanks for all you’re doing here!

Sorry about this – I forgot to post the update that corrected this issue.
Here it is.
You can now select any colour and not just black or white (or white only!).

December 19, 2011 at 6:25 pmGreat, thank you! I’ll be using this to recreate the PiP style that Apple uses during their keynotes and product announcements.
It’s going to be a lot of key framing so if you know of an easier to accomplish this effect, please please please, let me know!

December 19, 2011 at 10:33 pmIf you could indicate what sort of animation you had in mind it’s probably fairly easy to help … are you sliding them in, from left/right/above/below? Arew they also moving off in the same way? Or do you have something else in mind?

December 20, 2011 at 8:34 pmHi Joe
I don’t know what you have in mind for your animations but here’s an alternative version of this effect that has a Cover-Flow style move in and out, which can be tweaked to taste.
As I say, it’s pretty easy to customize this kind of effect if you know what you are trying to achieve animation-wise, but it’s hard to come up with something that covers every possible eventuality when you don’t know what those eventualities might be.
Hope it’s useful for you anyway …
