titles look bad
I have two questions. I created closing credits in PPro 1.5’s titler using both still titles and rolling titles. Initially they looked fine, but I had to make some revisions, and I made those changes within the original title files and then did a “save as” of the new versions and put them where I wanted them in the timeline.
The revised titles are behaving strangely–showing flickering and moire–along with strange looking artifacts (kind of a “glow”) when viewed on the DVD I authored. Anyone have this experience before or know what to do about it?
Second thing is–I’m also having a significant difference in the playback quality of the finished production when viewing it on a t.v. with a set-top DVD player versus on the PC I created it on.
I exported the production with a CBR 6.8 and PCM audio which I converted in U Lead DVDWS2 to Dolby 224 kb/s (also with a CBR of 7 and Dolby 192). The production looks/sounds great on a tv with a set-top DVD player, but when played on the desktop PC, viewed in Power DVD, there’s lots of artifacts on the movement, particularly on stills that have motion effects. I also viewed it on Windows Media Player, and it looks better than on Power DVD, but still nowhere near as good as the set top DVD player.
Is there a way to mess with export settings, or other things so that it looks good when played on both computer and set top player? Thanks for any help with these issues.
