Title safe display
I’m perplexed! I can’t seem to figure out why I can’t see my title safe. I have used the show title safe in the view drop down menu and in the canvas but to no avail. I’m using timecode overlays as well and I can see the Title safe display lines faintly in those rectangular boxes but not anywhere else over the image. I’m composing some titles right now so I need to be sure I’m good.
Can anyone help?

The first thing to always try is to Quit FCP, Restart the Mac, Open your FCP project and try again.

A great way to do this is to use “FCP Rescue” a free Apple Script that will Trash the Preferences for you (and restore nearly all of your user settings afterward).

Go to your canvas – the top 3 buttons. Button on the right – pull down – make sure “overlays” is ON.

Thanks for the suggestions but trashing the preferences made no difference.
Overlays are definitely on, as I can actually see the faint green image of title safe in the timecode overlay but nowhere outside of the timecode overlay.Odd.
