Tip: FCP X Clip Replacement Techniques
I was working on a project that had some sky replacement/set extensions and found a few nifty things about replacing clips in FCP X. Perhaps they will be helpful.

Interesting workflow, although I would probably just detach the audio from the original clip and do a straight replace edit. If the clips were of unequal lengths, I would place the marker on the detached audio at the sync point. Then when I place a sync marker in the replace footage, I can use the trim tool to line them up.
Still would be much easier if they just gave us a standard replace edit function.

Thanks for the feedback. I addressed detaching audio, replacing from start or end, and another new technique that I think is far superior to the rest.
