Is there anywhere on the Platinum 9 editing page that will tell me how big the movie is that I am creating . I keep adding scenes to my project and then go to Make movie and it renders and then I go to burn to DVD only to be told the file is to big . Very frustrating . Please excuse me if this is a stupid question but I am a Newby to Sony Vegas and am only learning ……….Thanks very much for your help with this matter .

You will need to use a bitrate calculator. There are free ones online- just search for them. You will type in the length of your movie and tell it what size disc you are using and it will tell you the bitrate you should be using.

If I recall correctly, the consumer versions of Vegas do not let you adjust the bitrate- you are limited to the presets it gives you. If this is correct (I think I read that somewhere) you will have to shorten your movie, use a different preset or use a dual layer disc.
