  • timeline sequence longer than the actual video footage?

Posted by Robbie Brewster on November 24, 2008 at 7:39 pm

    Hi there,

Weird, dont know how it happened and never happened before but, my entire timeline duration is 30 mins but my video footage is 10 mins. How do I get rid of the last 20 mins of black and why is it there.
I have tried exporting this video out for you tube and it has 20 minutes of unwanted black at the end.

    Any suggestiosn please

    Robbie,

I had this problem once and recall doing a “Click and Drag” from the top of the timeline to the bottom (spanning all tracks and from the end of my intended content to the end of the timeline. I never saw anything selected but pressed DELETE anyway. Problem went away. Maybe something was present I could not see or maybe it forces a clean up of data behind the scene.

    Good luck.

    Tom

Another possibility: the TIMECODE DURATION FIELD (top left of your canvas) may be longer than your content. Changing the duration (between IN and OUT points), automatically adjusts the sequence OUT point. Good Luck.
